This song has so much meaning to me it’s not even funny. It started with my mother singing this to me when I was a baby, then I met someone who was a 22 year old local musician when I was 15. His father used to sing this to him when he was small, and at 22, he and his sister would sing it together. We both became close friends for the next 6 years until things got more serious. When I turned 26, he proposed to me and we have been happily married ever since, and now we sing this song to our 3 year old baby girl Joni.

I never forget, years ago...i was working on a Vessel as a Stewardess and was falling in love with an Officer on board. We had a Board Radio, could be heard at each area.
When I was comming back on board from vacation they played this song...very loud.
Still today i remember my heartbeat..

Plot twist: Joni moved away but the words of Jimmy asking to marry her, kept haunting her memory. Five years later she divorced john. She packed her bags and caught a plane. She ran all the way to the house next door, only to find that Jimmy married another girl.... It was her best friend Jane.

Hahaa suddenly I remember "jimmy please say you would wait for me" .... This line I used to sing sometimes when it came to my mind.. 9years ago he sent me this song and I listened it attentively, he jokes I don't have a friend like John that you could marry.... Now I am not holding onto him I release him but I love this song... Easy to sing and unforgettable.... I remembered my first crush.. He's 25 Im 15, i confessed, he rejected me bcs i was too young for him.. .. I know that he also had an affection for me and I felt that, he's willing to wait, I knew it but before I turned 18 he just married another woman.. Im 22 now and Im still wondering bout him... He's my first love, Hope I could find him someday again..
