In this episode of Sidebar, senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan dismisses accusations that the movement killed babies or used civilians as human shields. Hamdan says that Hamas’ attack on October 7th was a preemptive one based on information the Al-Qassam Brigades had of an imminent war on Gaza being planned by Israel.

If these were hard questions, I wonder what the easy questions would be. Letting stand the ridiculous lie that Hamas didn't target civilians was absurd - were there a lot of soldiers hiding at that dance party in the desert? The videos taken by the Hamas terrorists themselves showed them butchering women and children. But actually the only thing that mattered was that he didn't ask the only questions that every Palestinian in Gaza is asking right now: how does Hamas justify their attack, given the thousands of dead, wounded and displaced men, women and children in Gaza and the utter destruction of their homes? How does Hamas justify using so much money and supplies to make their tunnels and rockets while Gazans lived in poverty, with no working infrastructure? Why is any of this worth it?
