Come to Zion | Elder David A. Bednar

This is a “remarkable season” of temple building for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

In this Church News video titled “Come to Zion,” Elder Bednar explains that the Church’s 315 dedicated, announced or under construction temples are one of the great indications that the Restoration is ongoing.

“In the early history of the Church, the call to the Latter-day Saints all over the world was: ‘Come to Zion, come to Kirtland, [Ohio], come to Nauvoo, [Illinois], come to Salt Lake.’ And Joseph [Smith] taught that the purpose of the gathering was so that the Saints would be in a position – in a place – where temples could be built.”

Now in a world that is growing increasingly dark and wicked, “access to the power of godliness through the covenants and ordinances” is a great blessing for Latter-day Saints, he said.

I had goose pimples listening to this, and I hope that going forward, I would remember to focus on the 'things that matter most' . May our Father in heaven bless all these men and women who He has called to lead His people. Amen

I'm curious how many temples the 2-hour Sunday schedule is allowing to be built. If each meetinghouse is being heated and lighted one fewer hour each week, that's got to be a substantial savings in facilities costs which could then be spent on temple construction.

You know smaller Temples that Gordon B. Hinckley made, about 50 of them add about 300 more only make them smaller Temples with two more stories higher, in other words make them 3 stories high, and no higher. #PuffUpTemples puff them up smaller Temples should only be 3 stories high, and no higher. #BringBackMoroni

God manifested in three forms God as the Father of creation, God as the Son in redemption, and God as the Holy Spirit in Us. One God three forms.
