One of my greatest thrills was riding in the tail gunner's position of Martin Caidin's "Iron Annie", he was a fascinating man and aviator.
The JU-52 originally had 3 600 HP BMW engines. Due lack of availability, Martin Caidin had substituted 900 HP engines for #1 and #3 with a 1200 HP for the #2 engine. The oil consumption for all 3 engines was much lower than 1 600 HP radial engine. Luftansa has since restored this JU-52 with including the original 600 HP BMW radials.

Hey what kind of plane is that? Why that’s a German Knight plane, really? Yes, where’s the last time they came to this region? Never, wow I wonder what they’re doing? Idk but I think there going to set up tents and station for something, will they help us here with our issues we have going on when no one else will, or are they going to add on to it? These boys are Christian’s, I think they’ll understand, and no this particular army, doesn’t pick on the weak, they do not invade, unless someone invades them.❤️🛡️✝️
