Anytime i work hard to "succeed", and get there, it never feels as satisfying as i thought it would be. In turn im not as motivated to "succeed". Whatever that means anyways

"Most people alive today have the following subconscious goal: To get to a point where life only feels good". Teal Swan 🌎 thank you for talking about this 😘

This is why the definition of success is being able to get what you want without much pain or contrast. Bc if there's pain to get there, you will resent what you had to give up or endure to get there. That's why many are still unhappy when they attain it.

This is why “success” does not equal happiness

What should I do when I chose the pain for success, but ended up depressed, ill, and eventually suicidal? It took years to pull myself out of the darkness and become stable again. I had to abandon some dreams to do it. I feel as though I wasn't meant to succeed at them. I'm trying to find new dreams that are in line with my health. But a part of me is disappointed that I failed, even if I feel better now.

0:21 🧘‍♀️ A major obstacle to success is the desire to avoid pain and seek constant comfort.
1:31 ⚖️ Contrast, or the experience of opposites (like pain and pleasure), is essential for personal growth.
2:20 🌱 Achieving goals, like living sustainably, comes with both positive outcomes and challenges.
3:01 🔄 Success often involves accepting new challenges and resolving the pain they bring.
3:40 🛠️ Many people fail to succeed because they retreat when faced with discomfort, rather than embracing sacrifice.
6:02 💔 Timothy's reluctance to face the pain of losing his fiancée limits his career success.
9:00 🏆 Unlike Timothy, Ken chooses to face pain and sacrifices, leading to greater success.
13:14 🔍 Success requires choosing which pain you're willing to endure, and finding ways to minimize unnecessary discomfort.

Successful people are just people who do what others are not willing to do. My success meant sacrificing current family, friends, home, boyfriend. Literally everything. When I ask people if they would do the same the answer is no.

It’s not that we are avoiding all pain or contrast. We are avoiding EXTREME pain and contrast. We were NOT originally designed to endure this level of contrast; that is a large part of why we suffer mental illness when we do. Extreme contrast at the level our society cranks it out, is ARTIFICIAL.

Make decisions based on what is most important to you. Amen. Irregardless of what is most important to the rest of the word. Got it Teal! Thank you thank you always!

I love your work so much. You know I only found you because of all the controversy you had a few years ago. Thank God for all that. Keep up the good work.

This is a great topic. In Counselling studies, we used a decisional balance grid/ process to examine different choices/circumstances and change. Teal highlights something here that I find very true: every choice involves some type of sacrifice, and there is no utopian situation. We left the city because we wanted a quiet life in nature and a lower cost of living, but we don't have many restaurants or events that happen. And owning a home is an achievement of sorts, but comes with repair responsibilities and taxes etc., though it means not having to deal with a landlord. I think it's helpful to stop looking for a 'perfect' situation, and look at what choices/options allow one to live optimally within one's values and means.

Explains why I’m not successful, I didn’t make sacrifices 😢

But sometimes you do sacrifice and still don't succeed 😢

remember, life is not fair: many ppl reach whatever/whoever they want because they have what it takes at the 'right' time without even being that conscious of it. ( Teal made a video titled 'life is unfair' btw'). Also pls consider that often times reaching the really high levels of society means 'cheating' in some way, although not in the way most ppl think.
As someone who lives with and is related to many different layers of society, this is my perspective. dont be too hard but not optimistic on urself either.

In some fields the sucsess rate is only 0, 1%, and no matter how much "no pain no gain" you suffer you can only alter the odds in fractions of that 0, 1%...+-

This is so true. I started my YouTube channel and as soon as it starts to game momentum Stop because of the downsides. I would rather not deal with the negative comments and the haters.

The world is constructed in the way that only 0, 1% to 1% have great success, and maybe 10% have a little success... Depending at what field you are trying to have "success" the odds can be really low, you really need to look at the odds.
