"If you're watching stuff and never writing is because you're suffering with discipline" is a cold, hard and absolutely true lesson.

In my humble opinion, if there's 15 minutes to game time and you don't have anything prepared for running D&D, the best solution is... don't play D&D. Tell your friends, "sorry guys I'm not feeling prepared to run a session tonight, can we try out this other boardgame instead?" You really don't need to kill yourself with stress over a hobby.

Bravo! I've never commented before; I've been a lurker in this medium since late 2006. You have a remarkable charisma. You are an excellent communicator with a confident yet humble style. You make it feel like we are sitting together, having a tea, and discussing interesting stuff. You are doing something right. There is a glut of information on any/every topic one could conceive but information without an effective communicator is useless. Next time you wonder, "Among the subject matter exhaustively covered by others before me, what topic might I cover?" -- remember this, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." Among your other skills and raw talent, you are a teacher and you may connect with someone who has not yet found their teacher. I know there are dozens of "influencers" that can't influence me... to you, I actively listen. You might be the one, the only one, that can deliver the information that your student wants or needs. Even if it has been covered by someone else, those others can't connect like you, can't deliver like you, and they can't inspire like you. I have no doubt that any topic you choose will be developed and delivered in a way that only you can. Keep up the good works.

5:01 To avoid AI slop crowding your google images, you can add "before:2022" to your search. It'll only show results for images before AI was a thing. So an example would be "big city fantasy art before:2022"

"My players will follow me into my silliest antics because I invited them to come be silly with me."

This is the vibe I go for as a DM!

Please don't feel overwhelmed by the number of videos out there that are "competition." I know I appreciate every single video you have made. I will also watch your videos before anyone else's simply because I know I am getting good content seen from a writer's perspective. It makes a difference. This was another great video that I can use with both D&D and my writings.

These techniques are all well and good but the whole bit about loving what you do and allowing yourself to love the things you produce is really the best advice I've seen out there. Keep doing what you're doing, I think I can tell you are having fun while doing it.

Just dropped my 2-year campaign because I couldn't will myself to be excited about it anymore. Doing my best to avoid this with my next! you always share these videos EXACTLY when I need them.

"wait until it starts to slip away, ... then you'll write fast because you're writing against oblivion...." YASS Dadi, thank you for the our next story arch and new fear unlocked!

The advice to touch grass and get in a good headspace is definitely the most important. Really appreciate that.

I didn’t think we needed another DM advice channel, but this guys has something to say and an infectious enthusiasm. This is becoming a special channel.

Dropping everything I'm doing to watch a new Mystic Arts upload. Your videos don't have any unneccesary noise or clutter, just clean helpful advice to make the whole DMming process easier. Love it 👍

Always with the S tier content. I could listen to you talk about DnD all day!

15:10 I feel that, especially when I think of a way to tie in a crazy mainline plot twist to a previously irrelevant B-plot. Being excited & WANTING to create, writing down ideas on a notepad or phone whenever you have them, that's a great feeling. Great video! Keep going, I love that this channel exists now!

I found this video very helpful. There are so many videos about writers block or how to prep. However, I think this video, especially the latter half, gives a point I haven't heard too much. Thank you for that!

I really like that you follow tangible, immediate advice with a broader view about why the block may be happening. When I find myself feeling unprepared multiple sessions in a row because I'm not excited about it, that's a sign that I need to mix things up. If you're bored as a DM, the players are probably bored too! For me, this often means going back to the underlying themes and premise of my campaign and noticing how things have drifted away from them or gotten stuck in a rut

This is, to me, the best DM advice I could ever ask for! Thank you Daði you are already one of the best TTRPG creator of this site.

The part around @13:33 really hits the mark. This irrational doubt or feat or self worry, critically thinking about your projects. I've felt like that at work, at a dnd table i've DM'd for a year and I still feel that way frequently. Makes me feel a little less insane for doing it knowing that you and others are as well
