“Superdawg is the last drive-in restaurant in the city of Chicago, and has been in business for 76 years.” Bon Appétit spends a day on the line with the Drucker family, owners of Superdawg in Chicago. Founded in 1948, the restaurant is still family-run and is the city's last original drive-in spot.

We stopped there on our way through Chicago a couple weeks ago. They were so quick! The fries stayed crispy just like they designed. What a wonderful spot to visit.

Big props to that couple you can see by the speed that they are operating that they are still regularly working on the passe and phones.

I hope they’re in business for many generations to come. I can tell they have tons of pride in their craft.

Actually one of the most special dogs in the entire world. Let alone just Chi. Go if you get a chance, all of the details make the experience.

I live in New Zealand and this is the first hotdog place I’ve seen where I immediately wish I could teleport & eat. Family owned too!!! Love this content, much love to the family ❤

I grew up in Chicago and have been going to Super Dawg for over 40 years. Nothings beats that juicy dog nestled in a box with those tasty fries. Best dog in town!

The attention to detail regarding the vents in the box is top-notch! I've always cracked the lid on my to go orders to keep the fries and such to not steam and stay crisp.

I have been there twice. Never fails to satisfy and I prefer the Superdawg green tomatoes to red ones. Their dog is also a jumbo dog made specially for them, which I like better than the thin ones typically served in Chicago. The best representation of a Chicago dog IMHO. I can never finish all the fries.

Back when I had family in Chicago, I would always hit up Superdawg at least once, usually on the way to O’Hare
