She still lowkey doesn't deserve him. She pretended to love him, but she just loved the fame of being his girlfriend. She was using him, and when he asked her to make him a promise, she broke it. Yeah...he kills people and all, but he still deserves someone who loves him for who he is, and not the crown on his head. She was the only one who was able to ignore his magic for what he had and try to have a reltonship with him. Lucien only saw her, so when she broke her promise and his heart, he must be devastated. He needs to realize that she only wanted to be a princess. Once he realizes that, he should find someone who actually will love him. Maybe a good mage who teaches him how to harness his He woud deserve that happy ending.

I really think that the dude never really knew how to contain his power and emotions separately and the girl tolerates him knowing he's her ticket to fulfilling her dream of being a princess living in nice castle. She doesn't deserve him in general
