Leaving nursing was one of the best decisions I have ever made! I have no regrets whatsoever. I became a nurse in 2010 and was already burnt out within the first 6 months. I was overwhelmed and going through a lot at the time but no one understood! It also seemed like the people around me didn't care to understand.

One of the main things that I could see after I became a nurse was that the nurses were not doing very well in terms of managing their stress. It was horrible to see it and it forecasted what my future would be like if I had stayed. I give all the glory to God for pulling me out.

After I became a nurse, I realized all too quickly that the workload was unimaginable. I tried different areas but nothing seemed to help. Being a mother of 3 children made me realize that that should be my first priority! I needed my mental health intact to be a present mother.

Nursing was also affecting my health negatively! I found myself falling sick all the time. My immune system was suffering and I couldn't cope anymore. I finally left nursing in 2020. I have never looked back since!! Leaving has allowed me to explore my full potential and venture into entrepreneurship! I have no regrets!

As a Nigerian American who has been an RN for 6 years. Nursing has almost finished me. I already have hormonal imbalances due to years of night shift. Started having heart palpations, anxiety attacks, random eczema that I never had before. Abeg, I won’t suffer myself for a thankless profession. I don’t care what anyone has to say anymore! I am a business woman at heart too! Cheers to our success 🥂 God got us my dear 🙏🏿
