Celestion Cream Alnico vs Creamback H

Got a chance to play the new celestion cream alnico today :)

I will do follow up videos with this speaker against the blue and gold celestion alnico's starting next week.

Thanks Paul, I was trying to decide between these exact two. I had heard alnico was smoother and sweeter but ceramic was punchier. Your comparison confirmed this for me and I went with the creamback to emphasize the percussive elements. Great playing and expression of varying styles.

The Alnico Cream is the best speaker I’ve found for a 1x12 cab in a band mix. Cuts great and sounds amazing with drive and clean.

I can rarely hear a major clean difference in speakers, the crunch channel usually shows better IMO.

I quite like both these speakers. Maybe they'd blend together nicely in a 4x12 (2 Alnico Creams, 2 Creamback H's).

thanks for the comparison, I have Creamback H in 3 of my amps and love the sound...they both sound excellent and not much noticeable difference other than the price tag.

I wish I could afford the Cream Alnico. It really sounds sweet. With a little bit of EQ tweaking, the H could likely get the same sound as the alnico--just drop a little of the midrange.

Wow the alnico sounds so much more refined and balanced, but the ceramic is really useful for edgy sounds. I get the feeling the cream could really do any type of music from Jazz, hendrix, ACDC and late hair metal (But probably wouldnt mate with a Boogie very well?)

I can't hear enough difference to justify the extra expense of the alnico!?!?! The drum level was pretty high on the demo too so it clouded a little bit of what I was hearing, but overall it was a great demo! Well done!

Anyone notice how the H75 seemed to disappear in the mix? H75 scoops out. Guitar - it's all in the mids baby - and the Cream seems to nail that frequency band without bloated bottom end and ice pick highs.

Im selling h75, went back to v30. Looking forward buying alnico cream. It sounds like advantages of v30 and greenback without drwabacks!
