Imagine your greatest failure. The event which caused you so much guilt and angst because it was your job and you thought you screwed it up so bad, you felt you could never bring yourself to be put in charge of something like that again. And then someone finally revealed that your 'failure' wasn't actually a failure after all, and that you actually did nothing wrong and that everything's alright now. The sheer relief of the news would have been very elated.

That's how Brandt felt when Ethan informs him that Julia's still alive. He looks extremely relieved and happy to learn that he didn't mess it up after all, and Jeremy Renner did a great job at selling the moment. This whole scene is a great ending to a great movie. :)

i like Tom's Ethan Hunt character in this movie because it's quite similar to the first movie in terms of the way he talks, his mannerisms, his actions..it's really great to see. :)

I was going to school in Vancouver BC at the time of production and got to witness a bit of the filming of this scene on Granville Island. It was pretty cool to see the end result in the theatre.
