ADT vs Frontpoint vs Protect America vs Vivint - Which is the Best Security System?

Without this plan, your system will be a local alarm only. Also, professional installation with Vivint is now free. Now, Frontpoint no longer offers the Protect plan and now offers monthly contracts.

I replaced my 21 year old ADT system with Vivint. I don't have a smartphone, so I just use it in a very basic 24/7 monitored 4 sensor 2 fire alarm mode. I went to Vivint because ADT became impossible to reach and I had an old Landline system. So, I eliminated the Landline and use the Vivint Cell connection. I can get personal phone assistance fast from Vivint, so that's the main reason I chose it. And by the way, none of these companies are perfect. All of them have disadvantages. That's life.

Vivint has contract free option if you pay for equipment upfront

Vivint is very different from the other brands you've mentioned. Monitoring can start at $15 a month. Installation is free. Lifetime warranty on all equipment. The absolute best technology. None of these other systems come anywhere close. Yes I work for Vivint. If you the best deals on a Vivint system let me know. The only company with 4k lenses on their cameras.

I had ADT and then I got Vivint when I move they told me that Vivint would install all the equipment in my new home. Vivint didn’t charge me $129 to install.

I signed a contract with adt in 07/2020 after my now ex-husband threatened to kill me and my son. On 7/10/2020 he came to my house and pulled a gun on my son. He fled to his house after my son called 911. It was there that he had a shootout with the police and is now in prison for attempted murder. I got ADT within a week. I told the adt rep my situation and informed him cameras were CRITICAL as i was afraid of him posting bond. The rep assured me the package i bought would fulfill my needs. The cameras rarely worked and when they did it was momentarily after buffering for minutes. I made multiple calls to adt and they came out 3 times but could not resolve the problem. I was told it was my internet so i bought new equipment but it did not help. I was under contract so i kept paying. However, I NEVER ACTIVATED MY SERVICE because it was worthless. Finally after 27 months I canceled because I read online that if I fulfilled 75% of my contract I could cancel. I told adt this when i called. I also reminded them my service was never activated because of the problems yet ive paid for 27 months. Adt rep told me it would take 30 days and then transferred me to another department where I received a hard sales pitch but I declined. Never during my call was I informed I would be charged for the remainder of my contract. They took 394.86 from my account! The autopay was set up with my bank account so they just used it! No email, no text, just took it. There is a big difference between 64 per month and 396.86. They are deceptive crooks. Its sad because they have been in business for a long time which is why I chose them. Another business lost by corporate greed. They have terrible reviews excluding those found on their own website. I wish i would have researched them beforehand but I was understandably under duress. I trusted their brand but I will not do that again.

I can't decide on the system to get. I am moving into my first apartment. I am not going to pay for WIFI at first so I need a system that can work off of cellular. I do want the monthly service plan. I just need a few basic sensors, nothing outrageous like a camera. I also wish to stay away from contracts if I can for now. What would you recommend?

I am an installer for ADT. As far as I know, all ADT installations require a professional installation. Unless you know something I do not.

So I got a home security system question. I'm looking for a home security system that can use geolocation to turn the system from disarm to away and back as I leave and come home. Smartthings USED to do for me but I've had issues with classic (smartthings) not arming. Dont need professional monitoring or anything massive. Any ideas?

Six months into a three year contract with Frontpoint and I shut the system down due to false alarms and poor sensors. 👎👎 Frontpoint is garbage

I do not recommend Protect America because I just stop paying on man's because my neighbor has a anti Jammer which cuts off the Wi-Fi and he's still able to enter my house when I'm not home so I would not recommend it I give it a zero
