How To Prepare For Disasters Like A Homesteader

Rule number 1...don't panic! Learn some skills, cook from scratch, and make sure you have water. Everything else will come out in the wash. Most of all....don't buy all the toilet paper. I'm sure all of you have a laundry basket somewhere full of mismatched socks 😂

Said it before and I'll say it again. This girl is a gem. The husband has a keeper.

Middle aged white man here. I have seen a lot of videos pop up in my feed about this subject over the years and honestly….when I saw you made a video about it, my trust factor kicked in and immediately clicked because I knew it was going to be helpful, informative and calm. Not a ridiculous flame thrower kind of video. If you know what I mean? THANK YOU! 💚

I love hearing someone young saying these things. I was 51 before I did. Now I'm 68, and I just sound like a grumpy old man. Thank you very much!!

Prioritizing what is actually important! 👌
This message is golden especially in times like this.
I have seen many videos of the aftermath of the last hurricane... and every one ive seen altho people lost darn near everything. The fact they were alive, their familys and freinds they were grateful to still be here.
Prayers to those that did not get thru it as "lucky"

A generator for those of us on wells and enough fuel to run it when necessary. Cash is also something people don't think about. When the power is out, the Internet is out and many stores can't run credit/debit and many won't take a check unless it's local. Chainsaws, bar oil and fuel. There's a huge list, but awesome message and great job Kim! A point is to have a plan, and if you don't know how to plan for a catastrophe or "social inconvenience", learn how to. Thanks and keep 'em coming!

Books!! Recipes, survival, medicine, etc.. if power goes out and you don't have the ability to Google something, having it on paper is important.

If you just walked out in the woods and leaned up against a tree, and videoed it, I’d watch it. Keep em coming.

Hello Kim, You are very tuned in, maybe clairvoyant and smart as well. Your beautiful hair may be an antenna to world events! You see through the events that are transpiring but not necessarily next door to everybody and so no one worries about them, but should. Being prepared means a person doesn't have to say "I wish I did something" before it all happened and now feels the despair that this lack of action allows.

And, you know what Kim, if it doesn't happen then thank Providence and carry on. The world is completely upside down. The world is at the bursting point of tragic events. Even people living in inner city apartments can do a little to store up, even if it is only for a little while, to secure their survival.

Your life Kim is no walk in the park. I, as a child, lived on a dairy farm with some horses, 200 Holstein and 100 Jersey cows plus chickens, geese, turkeys, a few pigs and even a handful of peacocks as well as rows of corn, a selection of fruit trees and rows of garden vegetables and fruits of all kinds and I tell you I was busy even as a child every day. The only worries were for a great supply of electric power, water, hay, molasses and grains for the animals. This type of life is BIGGER than BIG in things to do and most people, I am sorry, could NOT pull it off. If they were forced maybe they could. Being born into is the best way. Also, behind the scenes on many days is the veterinarian for the animals which I remember were around a lot! Now that I think about it again it ALL seems like way too much to do. Guess what? it was. So my hats off to you Kim and I'm not even wearing one and for reminding people that world events are teetering on disaster and to be prepared even if disaster will be averted!

It never hurts to be prepared. Being prepared can only mean you have supplies and will be warm and can protect your self. There is no downside!

1:00 😂😂😂

Audio wasn't bad at all. Also, this episode is full of incredible information and advice! This is my second year of growing foods and had plenty of goods canned to last for months. That doesn't include the 3 years of long term foods I have stored. So while people freaked out about the port protests and bought everything they could get their hands on, I had no need to shop. That brought a peace of mind that few felt.

9:50 When people realize this, they'll stop paying attention to ads, absurd amounts of consumerism and aim for a credit score of zero. ❤

Have a great day!

In terms of batteries I recommend lead acid batteries, I lived in a third world country and this was the main battery our family used when we had blackouts, or our grid was cut, also stack up on led lights. I would also recommend getting a hand crank generator that has a flash light or that can be used to power 5v appliances.

I have a manual grain mill, I have a wood-fired stove, I have a well and a spring in the forest. That's all that matters if there is no electricity. And I even have a pottery kiln that uses wood

Other than food, I keep bees wax candles, we have oil lamps, I keep a gallon or 2 of lantern oil, batteries, fuel, a gas range and we can also cook on our fire pit, canning lids if we need to start canning meat from the freezer, the big 5 gallon jugs of water.... and ammunition

Great, GREAT post! That’s the basic premise to my channel. Becoming more self sufficient and less reliant on the bigger system!
Thank you 🙏
