Spyro Gyra 1978 (Teds last show) 2 of 2

These tunes sound much different from the first two tunes I posted. Not sure why stuff from this set sound different but I think mics got moved around.
while a little more abrasive and harsh there's some killer drumming from Ted here that I think friends might like to hear.
Again this is from Teds last show as a official member with Spyro Gyra back in 1978.
Originally from another one of those 'ted tapes' drummer Ted Reinhardt had sitting around his house. He brought it over one day to listen to it and I transferred it but never did anything with it. (Hopefully the band, as they are now don't mind me sharing a few select tunes from this if they ever come into knowing about its existence)
Track one I left raw from the cassette transfer but the 2nd tune I compressed and limited a bit and there are some phase issues that I felt I couldn't do much about.
We recently lost Ted tragically and I wanted to share a few tunes I had. To my knowledge there's not any other live recordings of Ted with Spyro Gyra and other than maybe Ted and I, The people actually in attendance or maybe a very small select few, I don't think this is something anyone has ever heard.
Consider checking out the other video I posted with a couple other tunes from this show as well which have a bit better sound quality.

Tape Provided by Ted, transfer by Bene.
personnel was;
Ted Reinhardt: Drums
Rick Straus: Guitar
Jay Beckenstien:Saxophones
Jim Kurzdorfer:Bass
Jeremy Wall: Keys

I used to see all of them playing at the Tralf..
They were really great… 👍🏻
Even though I was part of the music in Buffalo and knew a lot,
I never knew the reason, why Ted was no longer their drummer.
Anyone really know why?
Someone commented on part 1 of 2 that he died, but that wasn’t it.
Ted died many many years later…
He started Rodan, with Bruce Brucato ( and different members), later they turned into gamalon.
Gamalon, had Bruce, bass became Ted’s brother Tom, (after a couple others) and Puleo.
Then Puleo left and Dave Schmeidler took over, then a chick named Nori Bucci played guitar.

Man, thanks for these. What a classic piece of history. It's great to hear how hard the group was playing back then.

BTW, on End of Romanticism is that Tom Schuman on synth? Sure sounds like it. I know he was a young kid on the scene at the time and used to sit in with this band.

OH MAN End Of Romanticism TOO??? This is too much--seriously. I drove 4 hours 3 years ago to see this tune live when they did their Morning Dance in concert tour, lol. Taped it too-- maybe I'll put it up. So weird after that Scott Ambush is now a pal of mine and we play in each other's bands when he's not out with gyra...but he's "not a fan of the older stuff" lol. traitor.

Was this LP cover the origin of the word “dork”? Man great music but unfortunate timing for fashion.
