The original engineer told me the 4 track multitracks still exist! Maybe hope for a true stereo mix one day!

Bassist Klaasje van der Wal is so darn sexy 🥵!!
He’s responsible for coming up with the bands cool name. Love this song!!

Yes I remember back when this was in the top 40 there wasn't much else that was any good in the top 40 and I would be listening to the radio and doing my homework but when this song came on I would to a short break from the homework to groove out.

They say the guitar riff in "Venus" was nicked from The Who's "Pinball Wizard". Shocking Blue (great name for a band) adapted it for this unique, catchy song, so I forgive them.

NOW YOUR TALKING THE BEAUTIFUL MARISKA VERES A STUNNING NATURAL BEAUTIFUL WOMAN. SHE COULD SING THE ALPHABET SONG AND MAKE IT SOUND GOOD. LOADS OF PEOPLE RUN THIS GROUP DOWN. CRITICS NEVER HAD A GOOD WORD ABOUT MARISKA SHE WAS A LESBIAN A ASEXUAL A COW YOU NAME IT THEY COULD NOT ACCEPT JUST HOW BEAUTIFUL SHE WAS AND NATURAL WITH IT. THEY DESERVED A BIGGER BREAK LIKE ABBA MARISKA LOVED HER HOME LIFE BUT SADLY SHE DIDN’T LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO ENJOY IT. IF YOU LISTEN TO BEEK THE DRUMMER HE ADMITTED PINCHING THE BEATLES INTRO MUSIC GOD KNOWS WHY. MORE LIKELY GOT THEIR HEADS UP THEIR OWN ARSES TO NOTICE. ❤️❤️

I think this was recorded live to a single track in mono. Either that or there wasn’t a multitrack that exists. I’ve been trying to research this for over 25 years now.

Meh. Good job on on the video but not a fan of the "Digitally Extracted Stereo". This track was recorded on 4-track, mixed-down & released in mono & intended to be listened to on 45's. Not much care has been taken with this "fake stereo" version, so it sounds mushy, the stereo imagery is smeared & the compression levels are all over the place. The original is, also much punchier. You should have used the mono version.

The whole song is a rip off The Banjo Song by Mama Cass. They Shocking Blue were even asked about it in the Nineties or early 2000's on Dutch TV
