Reluctantly, Jonah finally delivers God's message to Ninevah, and both Ninevah and God repent of evil. It's offensive language to describe God's offensive mercy. Seth and David talk about the way God overturns not only Jonah's prophecy but our expectations about who God's mercy can be extended to.

I love that we can see y’all. Seems a bit more personal while studying the Bible; especially when we can see the excitement on your face :)

The animals were called to repent to bring back Order. Just as it was in the garden before sin. We are called to be profit, priests, and kings to bring order to the chaos in the world that sin has brought to the world. We can only do this through Jesus.

I love your podcasts! It gives me so much insight!
If I may make a suggestion about the animals “repenting?” Don’t a lot of pagan cultures look at their animals as “gods?” What if Nineveh looked at the animals as gods? Or a type of god? Or, in the past, when G’D told the children of Israel to go into a city and destroy the city HE told them to kill all their live stock as well! Only save certain animals or none at all. I wonder if they had some knowledge to the past battles of their G’D? They didn’t know what G’D was going to do, or who this G’D would send in to destroy them. But they wanted to cover all bases? Maybe?
