It's crazy how high of a high 2016 felt before the cancelation news. Back to back waves of some of the best CCBS sets LEGO ever made, plus a promising start to the Journey to One Netflix show; it all really felt like Bionicle was hitting its stride. And then Journey to One's finale took a sharp turn and the cancelation announcement hit like a semi truck. It's crazy to imagine what G2 could have done if they had kept releasing amazing sets like these. I'm glad that I picked up the ones that I did back in the day. Great video bro!

The Umarak the Destroyer mask is actually really cool. JTO had a good introduction to it, as it was once the Mask of Control (Makuta’s mask before he got the 6 element one) but fused to Umarak after he tried to use it for himself.

It’s like the even more twisted version of what happened with Vezon and the Mask of Life.

I was fortunate enough to be visiting America when G2 was ending, and I was able to get Ekimu and Umarak while I was there. Very special.

Man, as a Hero Factory fan, a Hero Factory 2 would be awesome. They have so many new parts that would make adding small details to new figures easier, and the new colors for those classic parts would be great. I was able to get a knock off #5 armor shell piece in legos teal color and i really got more feels than i should have getting an old hf piece in a new color. Sadly, i hoghly doubt that theme returning is in the cards. I can dream tho

I always liked the older Ekimu. As a mask maker, he gave off dwarf vibes and somehow that just felt right.

Australian here. Yeah, the last wave of G2 was limited to just America/Europe iirc. Really tragic move on legos part, did a big bulk order to get all the sets for my G2 Makuta back in 2016 and made sure to include everyone from the last wave (Except Quake beast whom was somehow out of stock on Legos site.)

Thank the Great Beings I live in Europe and managed to get each and every G2 set back in store shelves.

2016 to me felt a much needed upgrade that took Bionicle as a whole, not just G2, to a whole new and exciting direction. Umarak the Hunter ranks among the best sets period, while, imho, Tahu Uniter is the definitive Toa figure (and that's coming from a diehard Kopaka fan).

Speaking of Kopaka, try switching those golden armor pieces on his legs with the ones from Gali, then replace those dark blue pieces on his arms with Kopaka Master's upper leg armor, since those stickers go in tandem with the stickers on its blaster. Change the red axles with black ones and voilà: you got the ultimate Kopaka as well!

this was the bionicle i kinda grew up with (g2 i mean).since im a little younger than most here i collected hero factory first and then bionicle when g2 came around. absolutely love this channel! ❤

I didn't even know bionicle came back with g2 until recently since I've been getting back into them. It's unfortunate I had no idea because these are so so much better than the hero factory stuff that I last had bought, probably 10 years ago at this point. I'm not really a fan of the ccbs system but these spice things up a lot more than hero factory 2.0 for example. I really hope lego brings back bionicle again so I can experience getting them in stores after so long. I'd probably even buy 2 sets each just to have a sealed one

I have no idea why I skipped out on Gali (both 2015 and 2016 versions). She has some of the best masks designs of Gen 2 Bionicle and her blue colour scheme is so refreshing to look at. I'm glad that I managed to pick up Umarak the Hunter but looking at the pictures of Gali made me wish I could travel back in time to get both Gali sets.

I remember that the second wave or Summer Sets here where I live at was only available at Toys R Us, but finding Ekimu was near impossible to where I ended up having to order it from Lego's Website. Thank goodness I managed to get all of the Summer Sets while they were still out considering how hard it was for other people to acquire them.

This was such a good year, really happy that I got both umaraks and somehow two ekimus, really sad that I couldn’t get the kopaka set.
