What I'd like to see in future versions of the X and S is a mechanical lock that internally immobilizes the crank or some other critical part, once an attempted theft has occurred. It should be impossible to remove this obstruction in a locked mode without destroying the bike. And perhaps a motor that is tied the bike computer to prevent it from being used in another bike. Sounds complicated, but with new technologies I'm sure you guys will figure it out! Also, it would be nice to allow other registered VanMoof owners to know if a bike in their vicinity has been stolen, so that they could get a reward or have others reciprocate if their bike is stolen. Maybe integrate an RFid or QR into the frame and allow any bike to be scanned quickly with a smartphone.

The lock is a really nice feature. However, the idea of leaving your beautiful ebike unchained in the city is a dream. Maybe in the Netherlands, where crimes such as car theft are 98% lower than the US.
