No one should minimize the gravity of the current world health crisis. However, please note John Cochrane's comment that, as terrible as SARS-CoV-2 has been, "there are many worse [diseases] out there". This lowly virus has brought the world to its knees; the swathes cut down by a future virus could be apocalyptic. Species-wide preparation and vigilance are essential.
