Napoleon is usually represented with a hand close to his stomach, inside his shirt.
Napoleon was very conscious of the importance of public opinion and harnessing that opinon for political ascension.
Some historians see a masonic symbol in this posture.
Others say that this posture was copied from the ancient Greek orator Aeschines.
The hand inside the shirt and close to the srtomach was supposed to differentiate and elevate the famous person from the rest.
Other famous people followed this fashion, and they included the French king Louis XVI, George Washington, La Fayette, Mozart and even communist Karl Marx.
In real life, Napoleon's actual distinctive pose was putting his hands behind his back and people could recognize him from that pose.
