Barbel Fishing - Big Barbel from a small river (Video 150)

You join me for a short video and spur of the moment trip on a late summer evening, fishing a small waterway for barbel.

Please do excuse the fact that my camera battery expired during the barbel battle that ensued, but I did not have time to charge it up before heading out, such are the time constraints and also being a forgetful oaf!

nice fish mark as you say she is long tell you what she was slim in places give her till march and she could put two pounds on or more cracking fish, ,great video as always, i went down our river on on the /saturday it was spot on but it rained all night and by sunday it was visiting me again heading across the fields, ah well net week maybe, , i like the bit in the video when the lights failed it was as though E T was night fishing with two red eyes looming out of the dark, , , lol, , well our river has been flooded for six weeks now but fingers crossed it will be ok at the week end, i saw the biggest otter yet last week as i walked the river huge dog otter so not looking great for the future, well mark great video and until the next adventure tight lines and big fish, and no rain, ,

Well done Mark. An enjoyable video as always and a cracking barbel. Pity about not seeing the scrap but these things happen. I have just got home from an all day barbel session on the Warks Avon. River is in flood yet again, the water temperature was low and sadly I never had a single knock all day. Great to view another one of your barbel fishing videos.

Hello Mark. First, i really enjoy the videos, and i've learned some good tricks from them. I have a question for you, as the season for the predators arrives to the end in one month, and i still want to enjoy fishing till the mid of April. What are the best baits to use for the non predatory fish? I have a big stock for the predatory, like all the things that you can imagine, as i've had luck with the promos, but now i want to stock up a little for the out of the season fishing, and i have no clue of what i need for a correct and kind of harmless, non predatory fishing. Thank you in advance and i wish you an excellent weekend. P.S. in France, the night fishing it is prohibited, so i need to do the job in the day light, so the night tech, does not apply for me, as i respect the law.
