I owned a P300 for 29 days last year. I loved everything about it, except the seats, which caused my back so much pain I had to sell the car. This P250 has the better, straighter backed seats. If mine had those, I would still have the car.

I do own a P250 SE and I'm really happy with it as long there's nor snow, neither ice on the streets as the cat definetely does not linke winter weather conditions at all. Apart from this the Jag performs way better than its predecessor, a W205 Mercedes C-Class, in any aspect. Admittedly the engine cannot compare with the 258hp engine in my G29 BMW Z4 s30i in terms of acceleration and Vmax. But it really doesn't have to. The XE is a beautiful (!!) and fun daily driver. I will keep it as long as it will be running!

A friend of mine got the P300 version and the 2L4Z (with 300hp instead of 250hp and AWD) makes a much better impression on me.

There is something wrong with that car. That engine is not putting out 250hp, it’s either broken or a P200/20t. On Pdrive tv, the 20t XE did 0-62 in 6.8. On Test drive Freak an F PACE P250 did 0-62 in 7.7, and that is heavier. I also would’ve thought that the P250 would’ve had paddles but it might be depending on the spec. Great video

Lookswise and interiorwise, I quite like the XE. That beeing said, the R-dynamic just feels way more complete designwise.
A friend of mine bought one new, took him roughly 12k km (roughly a year), until the car needed a new engine, but I guess thats jaguar for you - Not a car you wanna own unless it's under warranty.

But still, I think its a cooler choice than the 3series or C-class you see pretty much everywhere, but then again, I wouldn''t buy the Jag, but buy a Giulia instead. The looks of the Giulia is just unmatched.

You should try the XF . It has the v6 Diesel with 300 hp and a petrol V6 with either 340 or 380. I think you'd love the V6 diesel it doesn't pretend to be a petrol v6 it's just got that endless behaviour of all the decent diesels.

the lack of sportiness comes from the absence of paddle shifters. Once you go manual, trust me this thing loves to push hard. I own a P300 so maybe it's tuned differently, but I know for sure that going manual makes everything more responsive, and gear shifting is much faster

Great video, thank you! Unfortunately there are not many reviews on facelifted XE, had to buy one almost blindly. No regrets though :)
Also have P250 version and it's not fast indeed. Even 328i seem faster.

Pre-facelift had 35t V6 version, but since 2019 it no longer exists. They have P300 AWD, but it's a 2.0L 4-cyl and is not much faster due to increased weight.

It‘s not at all an engine for sporty driving. They mainly developed it to be able to pull things like a 2.1 ton Range Rover Velar.
A 330i feels like it has 50hp more than this. Certainly not very jaguarish, comfortable it is though.
The diesel however with 200hp is a really great choice. I had it in the Evoque and did 250‘000km with it.
I‘d recommend the D200 with RWD, if you want this car. Basically uses nothing for fuel.
If i was 24 (I‘m 21) I would rather take an F-Type R 😆

I do like Jaguars. But underneath the bonnet, the car loves to give you issues. Especially electricals becoming the weakest part of the Jaguar. The interior has cheap plastic parts which hardly lasts since it would either fall off or just not function properly.


Yet, i do hope Jaguars become more reliable soon in the near by future, since i still do have hope for the brand.
