ROMA's impact (and dare I say likeability) depends on the beholder. ROMA shows us a reality without instructions on what to see and what to connect... leaves it all to the viewer. If we, as viewers, were able to reflect on what was shown and to emotionally connect ourselves with Cleo and later with Sofia and with the kids... the movie is an emotional journey as deep as I had never experienced in a movie. Oh... but if we do not do that... if we are passively viewing it, waiting to be told what to see, what to feel... we consider it boring. What a clever guy is Cuarón. Deliberately or not, he put us to the test. These many nominations and awards give me hope that so many of us could actually connect.

I love the cheers for Rami. He got the loudest ovation of the night, if you look at the faces in the crowd, so many are smiling and cheering. Rami is such a darling and a real favorite as an actor and human being. Love that he and Spike Lee are old friends who did two movies together. How cool is that!

Oh Rami just when I thought I couldn’t love him more his Speech was amazing & OMG Letitia Wright what a BEAUTIFUL Soul she made me cry I suffer/so many others do too suffer from Depression & to speak about it on such a platform gave me strength, took my breath away & inspired me & will do the same for others too that don’t feel like being here anymore! THANK YOU I’ve been Suicidal for Weeks & have tried to commit suicide it’s not easy so anyone seeing or reading this that suffers too don’t give up as I WON’T WE CAN DO THIS!! OneLove
