Weekly class on selected chapters taught by Swami Tadatmananda. The Uddhava Gita is a small section from the famous Bhagavata Purana in which Sri Krishna imparts powerful Vedantic teachings to his dear friend and devotee, Uddhava, much in the same way that Sri Krishna teaches Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita.

To me, the highlight of this discourse is the way Swamiji brings out, towards the end, the subtle transition from Krishna's reference to himself to his reference to the Atma. I loved the manner in which Swamiji brought out the connection with the Mahavakya "Tat Tvam asi" and also hinting that devotion to Ishvara is but a means, an important and indispensable means, to understanding our own true nature. I bow down in gratitude to Swamiji and his lineage of Gurus.

Does the concept of want for perfect peace and contentment, need to dissolve as one is just peace and contentment without 'want' or sense of one in wanting?

Is Sri Atma Gita derived from this Gita?
