Hi Dan. Earlier I had purchased the Tangzu x HBB Wu Zetian Heydey after listening to your sound demo of it. I am loving it. Just to share with you, it has amazing synergy with the Cayin RU7. Now I have purchased the ZERO:RED after listening to this demo. Once again, the ZERO:RED's sound is exactly as I had thought it would be after listening to this demo. It is a very natural sound with sub-bass, bass and mids-vocals being the highlight for me (using the stock narrow bore ear tips). I am treble sensitive and hence prefer the RED's 'treble taming' (as some would call it). Overall, the amount of treble, detail, and air I am getting from the RED is enough for me 99% of the times and especially so when I am in the mood for a nice, relaxed, and easy-going listening session. I have other IEMs for when I want a more energetic sound. Btw, I also own higher-end IEMs like the Monrach MKII and 64Audio Trio and yet, I am thoroughly enjoying the RED. Its sound is just so nice, natural, and addictive. I am thinking of it as a nice upgrade to my earlier favorite in this segment- the Final E3000. I always prefer an overall balanced sound, but this is the first time I am preferring the RED's powerful sub-bass and bass. It's done very tastefully in my view. Yes, one could fault its separation in the busier tracks but then its price must be kept in mind.
And speaking of its price, that is something that further makes the RED a no-brainer purchase. Thanks for your work!

Very natural sounding without being boring. I just think it lacks a bit of treble/air for my taste. But it seems to be a good iem.

This is super late, but if any of you found the Reds too shouty or vocal forward, try this EQ:
No preamp
Filter 1: ON PK Fc 1450 Hz Gain -2.0 dB Q 0.800
Filter 2: ON PK Fc 4940 Hz Gain -1.0 dB Q 0.900

I found those two options alone to make the upper mids far more tolerable for me.

The sound of this IEM sounded like someone who 'walked the walk, and talked the talk', lol.
As much as I have listened to many of the demo, this is probably well suited for me, simply because I tend to do assignments with music on, and this sounded like its easy listening and doesn't have a high 's' sound unlike other demo IEM's I have been listening to on my Audeze Maxwell (I can be wrong, but the demo is easily +-5% errata I believe)
I maybe getting this IEM and pair it with Fiio BTR3k for convinence of 'typing, drinking water and going to the restroom'. Thank you again for the demo Dan! Until then, Fatfreq will be a hard pass until I have that money to commit, hahaha!

After I tried it, Zero Red immediately tasted better in the original than this video. I think it's more in line with the frequency response in squiglink.

Awesome!! This really helps on decision making 👏🙏 l’ll be having fun switching between videos back and forth and compare with my quite flat reference👌 Great music picks too👍👍 (btw graphs and sound description come second to compliment to me)

I own it and I think it's very good. I've listened to it on my big boy system consisting of an Octo Research DAC 8 Pro Dac, and a Topping A70 Pro (on low gain). Think it's excellent. Audiophiles are always in love with exaggerated treble because it creates the impression of better imaging/soundstaging. The Zero Red has just the right amount of treble but could definitely use more of the Blue's bass (own that one too). Best thing is this guy can be listened to without EQ. Though it can be improved by it. Sound very good on my LG V20 with its Quad Dac. A near perfect solution for OTG because of the low cost. Fitment may not be good for smaller ear canalled people though. Fits me perfectly with wide bore medium silicon tips.

It is worth its price. The treble is rolled off slightly but I listened on a Mele.

Fairly balanced sounding. The resolution could be better and the bass tighter. Some part of the treble is a bit sharp. Average soundtage. Better than OG.

Not bad, according to the price. 👍
Can you also try the kiwiears quartet. Please 🙏

Dan I’d love to start incorporating actual sound demos into my reviews I feel like it’s the only way to really give people the information they need. Any chance you’d help me with what I’d need for recording? Love the channel! Thanks for your leadership in this.

it has... more BASS than the graph shows

Seems like it needs some treble extension to smooth out the bass

Sounds pretty dull and meh with poor resolution. Uh, I mean, REVOLUTIONARY! THE CLEAR NEW LEADER OF ITS PRICE BRACKET! Another banger from Crin!

the bass leaning straight forward i think the red is more balanced and the neutrality is fair enough to match vocals and instrument separation, i think has less soundstage...the OG is bloated for me sounds fatigued when using it in long hours...
