This webinar was hosted by MDC in an effort to raise awareness and increase understanding of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (#SMA) as part of #SMAAwarenessMonth.
This webinar is aimed at understanding the current recommendations and benefits to physiotherapy and occupational therapy for children and adults with SMA. This webinar helps to answer the following questions:
1. What rehabilitation supports are available/recommended for children with SMA?
2. What rehabilitation supports are available/recommended for adults with SMA?
3. What is a SMA multidisciplinary team? Who is involved?
4. How can the team track progress/benefits of rehabilitation (e.g., outcome measures)?
5. Should rehabilitation interventions be tailored to SMA subtype, disease stage and age?
6. Is there evidence/research to show which rehabilitation interventions are best for SMA?
