Dug out deck looks like a good idea. Your feet are on the centre of the mass of the board which requires less effort to swing the board about. The bottom surface looks flat and potentially "sticky" with the water. Perhaps integrate hybrid downwinder board bottom surfaces could help in lift offs.

I feel like the design is quite out dated. Longer and narrower get on foil way easier than wide and short.
