For the concerned parents and journalists out there:
1. This video is no longer on YouTube Kids.
2. I did not put this video on YouTube Kids, YouTube did. It is not possible for creators to put their videos on YouTube Kids via any setting or application process that I am aware of.
3. Except for ~4hrs on Feb 13, this video has always had "Not Made for Kids" as its Audience setting. It was briefly "Set to Made for Kids" as a result of YouTube's automated system, but YouTube accepted my appeal to override this. The video was on YouTube Kids before and after this occurred. Why YouTube did not remove it from YouTube Kids when accepting the appeal is beyond me. I only mention this as some people think that the Audience setting affects whether a video is on YouTube Kids, it does not.
4. The title, description, and tags of this video have never had any mention of "Thomas & Friends" or "kids content" or anything other kind of SEO that would have resulted in it being placed alongside other kids content. It was uploaded for the enjoyment of my subscribers.
5. YouTube does not notify creators when their videos are put on YouTube kids. As far as I know, creators can only tell with any certainty if they dig into their analytics. I only found out the video was on YouTube Kids after the influx of comments telling me.
6. There is not a setting in YouTube Studio (where creators control their videos) to remove a video from YouTube Kids. There is a form you fill out to ASK YouTube to remove it, but it does not appear readily in Google Searches. I only found it after digging through the YouTube Kids documentation as a result of this mess. I filled it out on Mar 24 but never received a response. I am testing it with other videos now.
7. I am sympathetic to parents, YouTube Kids is advertised as a safe space for children and YouTube should ensure this is the case. Having said that, it is ultimately a free service and you get what you pay for.

The controversy that started on tiktok brought me here, I can imagine what will it be like when:
1. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure gets on the news for "being demonic"
2. Garten of Ban Ban gets on the news when a fan made music video gets made and it is controversial
3. Friday Night Funkin' becomes controversial and get on the news for "suggestive content" and "swearing"

For those coming from TikTok:
1. YouTubers have no control over whether or not their content appears on YouTube Kids.
2. YouTubers can mark their videos as "Made for Kids" or "Not Made for Kids" but this doesn't affect whether the video is on YouTube Kids (yes, really). This video is set to "Not Made for Kids", if it wasn't, you wouldn't be able to comment on it.
