On July 15th 2022 the Gorilla Tag servers were hacked by Name/Namo also known as the placeholder ghost creepypasta. Nobody knows why or how it happened but there are several theories going around. theres a specific mod called: "Rig Spammer" which when turned on, clones your monke depending on how long you have it on for and it lags the server

Had no clue this happened, good job on covering this. With the whole J3VU thing, doubt he want's lemming to fix the game, the man just wants clout/attention. I think he said that in the interview so he wouldn't look bad infront of the people watching. Honestly, I think that this incident is probably a case of "doing it for clout" or trolling by crashing servers in an interesting way. I wish that people would just play the game the way it was meant to be played.

1:49 coming back to this video 7 months after i saw it, i've made my own game with a gorilla tag locomotion playstyle and it was definitely lemming. he probably pressed play on the unity project, moved his hand using the hierarchy and move tool, then joined a lobby with a very basic name changing script (he joined testing the game because he was seeing whether or not the players named "name" would show up for him still. he was also probably testing ban scripts for theissue

The placeholders are created with Photon. Hacker's create/use mods that create networked resources (which is the player model) in the game however times they want. And that was most likely Lemming, because no hacker can get the admin badge server-sided. Lemming might have required everyone to leave to test the update that fixes instantiating resources using Photon, and make it to where players can not instantiate server-sided objects. He also joined using the Unity Editor and changed his name through a script. As a professional Unity, Photon, and PlayFab user, this information was pretty easy to find out.

Hey, i met a member of the group of hackers, and he started "Namo" but on accident. He made the menu that had "rig spammer" and accidently used it in a pub, and more groups started instaling the mod menu, and it was all an accident. It was not something about no updates it was an accident.

That’s not lemming. Atleast that’s what you think. There has been a mod created for cosmetics NON CLIENT WISE, but that mod is only available for less than 10 people.

1:48 Its most likely thats lemming himself because the only person who can make fixes is lemming himself or he sent an admin to do it for him. So its a 50/50 chance

I saw a real attack yesterday and it was scary, someone with the name DONTTOUCH came and when someone touched me, I was transferred to a public server that was not tied to a room, that is, I could go to another public lobby by literally going anywhere
