Sibrlius’s 7th symphony remains one if the great works of the 20th century music, but the 5th is aleays a fun listening as well.

Granted the ineffable nature of great music, but I enjoyed your insights into Sib's music and this symphony in particular using language and visual aids.

I love all the Sibelius symphonies except number one. But I think his greatest is the 4th. Very grim and desolate, but one of the greatest symphonies of all time.

To my understanding, the birds that the fourth movement theme represents are cranes, not swans.
