XP11: First IFR Flight in VATSIM! Gatwick to Geneva in the Zibo

Finally an other flight in VATSIM! This time I level up and do an IFR flight. In this video I fly from London Gatwick to Geneva in the great zibo mod. Unfortunately the controllers that were online in Geneva disconnected during the flight, so there's ATC only in the first half of the video. Sorry if I did some mistakes and if the subtitles are not correct. Enjoy!

The transponder is set to TA/RA upon lining up the runway. The transponder is on standby on the parking position, turned to ALT OFF before pushback, this gives ATC the possibilty to see you on their ground radar. ALT OFF stands for "Altitude off", because the controller obviusily doesnt need it :-)

FlightSimBoy, I am not a pilot by any standards, but I do have some advice when running the APU have one of the aft pumps on. That is the only pump you need when the APU is running. Keep the packs on until you are ready to start the engines so the plane stays cool. Don't worry about the before Taxi checklist items until you have fully pushed. The anti-collision light goes on only when you are hooked up to the tow and ready to push. Speaking of checklist items the Zibo has that in the tablet. Otherwise, that was still a great flight.

Been ages since I’ve been on vatsim and I know this video is old but right before you take off he says via A1 which is the holding point :) might try a vatsim flight soon it’s been months

Hey it’s better to have the tug ready for pushback and then ask for clearance, but it’s not really that big of a deal. Nice job!

Just a tip for flying tubeliners in general: you put the flaps out after engine start and pushback.
