I assume the "Low-Z" setting would have also shown 120VAC on the hot-neutral connection you had on the "V AC" setting at 3:30?

The metal box is not an equipment ground.. it is not capable of carrying fault current back to the source. The voltage reading is a difference in potential between two metal parts. In theory you could touched the hot wire to the box directly again nothing will happen until an equipment ground comes into play!

I know about duel impedance, but what I have yet to see is a simple add on device that will put a 5 or 10K resistor across a set of meter leads. Anybody seen anyone that makes such a device, or am I destine to invent such and market it and become wildly rich?
