I can see you in the morning when you go to school

Don't forget your books, you know you've got to learn the golden rule,

Teacher tells you stop your play and get on with your work
And be like Johnnie-too-good, well don't you know he never shirks
He's coming along.

Crime of the Century is the third studio album by the English rock band Supertramp, released in September 1974 on A&M Records. Crime of the Century was Supertramp's commercial breakthrough in both the US and UK, aided by the UK hit "Dreamer" and the US hit "Bloody Well Right". It was a UK Top 10 album and a US Top 40 album, eventually being certified Gold in the US in 1977 after the release of Even in the Quietest Moments.... The album was Supertramp's first to feature drummer Bob Siebenberg (at the time credited as Bob C. Benberg), brass and woodwind player John Helliwell, bassist Dougie Thomson, and co-producer Ken Scott. The album has received critical acclaim, including its inclusion in Rolling Stone's "50 Greatest Prog Rock Albums of All Time.

We were listening to Hendrix, Zepplin, Floyd, Deep Purple, Santana, the Stones and then someone like this came out and we were blown away. I missed the days of vinyl. Get paid on Friday and go buy a new record at the local music store for 5.00. Those days were the best.

I still remember the day buying this LP back in '79 when I was only 14 years old. 🖤🥲

They were huge back in my early youth, one of the biggest with Breakfast in America (1979). So fine.

That was brilliant, thank you! And, yes, old records are noisy. And that is how some of us like 'em :-)

I forget to mention, I hv the Vinyl Orig Master Recording 1st edition of this LP circa 1982, I believe? Plus 1 other popular one of theirs. Properly cleaned ALL vinyl 'n the moving coil cartridge stylus every time they all played. They all look so shiny 'n clean, still. Some are over 45 to 50yrs old. You're so correct as none hv the crackles 'n so few scratches which aren't deep enough to cause skipping. Tk you for your channel. Loving it! From an older gal who was an audiophile back in the analog days, but now bedridden! Excuse me if I did already comment on the OMR Vinyl LP's? Memory truly going downhill swiftly! 🎶

I can see you in the morning when you go to school
Don't forget your books, you know you've got to learn the golden rule
Your teacher tells you stop your playing, get on with your work
And be like Johnnie-Too-good, don't you know he never shirks
He's coming along
After school is over, you're playing in the park
Don't be out too late, don't let it get too dark
They tell you not to hang around and learn what life's about
And grow up just like them, won't you let it work it out
And you're full of doubt
Don't do this and don't do that
What are they trying to do?
(Make a good boy of you)
And do they know where it's at?
Don't criticize, they're old and wise
Do as they tell you to
Don't want the devil to
Come and put out your eyes
Maybe I'm mistaken expecting you to fight
Or maybe I'm just crazy, I don't know wrong from right
But while I'm still living, I've just got this to say
It's always up to you if you want to be that
Want to see that, want to see that way
You're coming along
