As a long time fan of Parannoul’s music I agree with some of your points production wise. But this review seems kind of surface level. Why not mention any tracks to use as examples as with your other reviews? Why is Fantasy your least favourite song? What did you think of Evoke Me, the 14 minute song split into 3 distinct parts? A 6 minute review falls short of providing some in-depth insight into an hour long album

It's okay guys A Lot Can Happen and Maybe Somewhere he'll realize that his score is Backwards and he'll post a new video when No One Talks About It Anymore.

calling it a 'regression' from After the Magic is like calling nick drake's sound 'regressed' from Bryter Layter to Pink Moon just because he stripped down his sound.

this is a genuinely bad review. like, it's a shoegaze album, but the way you are reviewing it sounds as though you view the shoegaze elements as a lesser form of artistic expression, and that by not stepping away from those characteristics, it is somehow a worse album.

I do think you’re criticism of the album is fair (it wasn’t an issue for me but I can tell why it wouldn’t work for some people), but it would’ve been nice to see this album get treated the same as a lot of your other reviews.

Instead of using half of the video length just to talk about “After The Magic”, you could’ve done a deeper analysis of tracks rather than just lumping them all together (seriously, even “Evoke Me” didn’t receive any mention?). Yes, while the distortion does make up a considerable amount of the album, the layers underneath and between sections contain so much depth that I would’ve loved to hear you explore.

I also don’t get the criticism against his vocals being identical to the previous album. So much of “Sky Hundred” has him going well beyond “After the Magic” in this regard, from higher sung passages to straight up belting and screaming. I think his vocals have gone a really long way.

Once again, I respect the review and the score. Just this review felt sloppy and lazy. Didn’t really argue for the opposite side on why this received a 6 if it was such a painful experience.

Also, what is with the complete non-acknowledgment towards “After the Night”? It’s happened twice now on this channel that you’ve completely disregarded his arguably, most boundary pushing and critically acclaimed body of work to date?

Still have a like from me though 👍. It isn’t fair to completely flood reviews like this with negativity. Everyone is allowed their opinion

I can agree to a certain extent. However, i don't think bringing back the distorted sound palette is a "step down in quality", i personally think it's just a shift in aesthetic.

I will say though that it does get a little fatiguing over time. Like yes, the distorted, crunchy sound that these songs are being smothered in is great and it gives the songs a unique feeling, but does it have to last for every single song for the entire duration? The only song here that isn't distorted that much is the interlude in the middle of the record, and as beautiful as that short song is, it doesn't really help you take a break for long.

I want to be fair to this album, and i will keep listening to it, but so far it does lack of a lot of memorability for me.
