Nice smooth never ending movement of that bucket. Love watching a professional at work

Smooth and precise just the way it should be. I almost went for heavy equipment courses when I was 18 to eventually operate excavators but at the time it was only offered in a place far out west so I became a milling machinist for 10 years.

I'm in mining and I just recently got signed off to run excavator so I'm still learning. One thing I've noticed is there are a lot of average operators, but not a lot of really really good ones. The two things I've been trying to focus on are never banging my cylinders, and trying to stay several steps ahead of myself as far as planning goes. So any good tips I get from videos helps, cheers!

Hello. Your videos are very instructive, thank you very much. It’s just a bit sad the subtitles are not active, it’s a lot easier for getting full comprehension of your speech 😊

I should’ve mentioned in the video … I was only throwing frost over the pipe on work side because we were leaving access on ditch side behind the spoil for a well operator because I had open cut his road that morning.

I like to scratch the surface first like if I’m digging footings… comes out super clean and looks really good. Little details that separate me from the average operator

I’m learning this in school. My ditch was like 3 or 4 feet deep and maybe 30 feet long. Feels like it takes me fucking forever to make it all look nice.

Always enjoy watching your videos. Whereabouts are you working? I'd assume Alberta still. Any companies you'd recommend applying for? 23, moved here from BC and did side hoe for civil sewer in Edmonton for the summer. Can't seem to find a whole lot of available work this winter. Even labouring, don't mind working from the bottom by any means, just need a company that'll let me get my foot in the door.

@1:18. Bing, if that was a rock, u toast.

Your flaw is no relief. Dig the center frost first, the sides then have a relief to pull thru faster.

Same for non frozen, dig a relief, center first to depth, then pull the sides, bucket speed will be faster.

And the frost could have went left, you just bury it with the none frozen, and leave enough to shade with.

Cause you binged that piped, plus 1 pass with the hoe or dozer could make enough room for a truck to pass on the left.

Your not bad, some room for improvement is all.

Both edges should be rubbed clean, should be no rubble on either side. The supervisors like to watch from opposite side as work side. So clean walk ways on both edges.

Do you ever have to screen the bigger stuff out the soil when you backfill, or do you just put that soil back on top of the pipe

Nice video. Man I missing moving dirt. I’ve got 5 years experience with Hoe and Dozer work. Then I got a crane ticket been stuck hoisting for 10 years now as the money is so good and steady work. I always dream about working back in the dirt. Maybe one day !
You know any company’s that have cranes and dirt moving equipment in there fleet ? Would love to be versatile for a company and do both.

Do you always slam the bucket back when you dump and yeah tooth drag if you know how to dig is best way if there is any underlying pipes or utilities
