The rubber feet stretching is an old trick for the seller to know if customer opens the item and can then voids any warranty - use cold air / freeze spray to make rubber shrink - then fit

In this kind of problem This new generation laptops can be repaired only by removing battery and drain power from mb and replug battery and problem solve. Good video

Sorin, you are right about moden laptops, i have seen quite a few with sio lockup.
You made that laptop work for the customer, that's all that matters.
I do like the way the io chip sends a code through the keyboard matrix, shame that all modern laptops don't use that idea :-(

Hi Sorin,

I had a very similar issue with my Asus NJ750 laptop. The problem comes from the battery.
- the problem reappears intermittently as long as the battery is inside.
- when the battery is removed, the laptop works perfectly.
After dismantling this battery, I finally discovered that of the 6 Li cells inside wad dead.

I hope this helps.

Now they are putting the batteries inside - the average user cannot remove the battery to reset this type of software glitch. They have to be torn apart to reset. Most laptops had removable batteries, and trap doors to access hard drives and RAM 10-15 years ago. Now everything is buried under the main cover...and they hide the screws! Thank goodness we have Sorin to show us where they are hidden. :D
