Sea fishing - Sea Trout on the fly

Having finally caught a sea trout on the spinning rod recently, it was time to try it on the fly rod!

Weather forecast and tide looked good (for fly fishing at least) so I gave it a go.

Without any real knowledge of the 'best' techniques to try, I started out stripping the flies at various speeds, but soon found that drifting them round on the tide got the most attention.

After a few near misses it finally came good!

Maybe consider keeping fish in water when u unhook and release.
Plenty of support/info for that approach now.

Hi. Scot in Norway right now. Here the locals fish with shrimp patterns on intermediates. They tend to be enormous casters too! I have had some small success in the local fjords but I havent seen the monsters that are often on Youtube. There are also lots of salmon farms and sea lice that comes with them.
