May look and be simple ish to some...but to me it's still somewhere south of fascinating how this can be done. I've watched you and others do things like this and it seems so amazing yet relatively easy. Grasping the process and understanding the mechanics is where I am. One day soon I hope to have my forge built and get the anvil n hammers. Till then I'll keep watching and doing some simple things w the acetylene torch and a block of steel at work when I can.

Just found your channel and looks like it will be one of my favorites. Nicely done! One question, at around 43 seconds in I think you say you start with 3/4 square stock. I trust you mean 3/8? . Thanks!

Question, wouldn't it be easier to get the folded leaf by heating it, quenching one side and using the horn to round the other side? Heat and repeat on opposite side? Or do you think there's more risk of breaking it by hitting such a thin piece with one side cold? Maybe use a small ball peen?

I'm in the process of making this and I don't have the jig. Trying to save myself from making it lol.
