James Arness Says This Is Why He Never Kissed Miss Kitty

Gunsmoke’s Marshal Matt Dillon and Miss Kitty are one of Hollywood’s most iconic on screen couples. But even so, fans are still dismayed up until today as to why they never had the chance to make things official. What really grabbed people’s attention was the subtle but clear tension between Matt Dillon and Miss Kitty. Given that Miss Kitty's final appearance on Gunsmoke was in 1974, it’s impressive that almost fifty years later, both older fans and new ones are still tuning in and discussing the answers to those questions.

At 76, I still watch gunsmoke daily. Just like I did when I was a kid. I love the chemistry between Kitty and Marshall I never before so definitely after Dillon. Yes, I watched them over and over everyday, great show!

I Loved Gunsmoke and I still watch it everyday. I was raised on it and watched it with my Grandparents every Saturday night. I have watched all the reruns so many times but I never get tire of them. I miss this show so much. This was real TV and nothing will ever replace Gunsmoke...

And even though we have seen all the episodes many times we see and notice things that we did not notice in the past.
Shows like this were great entertainment and had a good moral fiber.
