They should match make Aldo as if he won the fight. Give him Cejudo and send Bautista to PFL

Position means nothing if you don't do anything with it You shouldn't ever win a decision based on positions. A takedown when someone is throwing strikes at you is a defensive move. Strikes landed, damage done, slams and aggression. Aggression should be defined as chasing down an opponent, taking the center of the octagon and attempts to do damage or end the fight. Aggression is not closing the distance so you can hold on the fence or or shooting a double leg so you can lay on someone until the round ends. The UFC judging really went the wrong direction when they put emphasis on "dominant positions". An easy solution would be make soccer kicks and knees to the head legal on the ground. There is way less stalling. Guys used to panic in Pride when someone was trying to take them down

You dont score points for blocking or avoiding strikes, you dont get points for stuffing take downs.
If you cant stop a guy from pinning you down you are losing the fight.
Its not a one sided event if you dont like getting smothered do something about it.
The reason they dont and just complain is because it requires energy and also opens yourself up to getting hit or submitted, so who is really stalling?

Aldo definitely won that fight. Bautista performance was just a shame. Don’t have an idea how they scored it for him. Aldo was ROBBED and it wasn’t even close.

Aldo has done this before. He defends the take down by leaning on the cage. How do you expect to win when your opponent is racking up so much control time? Aldo needs to change his strategy if he wants to win, not have excuses made for him. The strikes were close but Bautista had much more control time. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

They need to change the scoring criteria so that control doesn’t even factor in, even behind damage.

Like they need to make such an extreme change that nobody even goes for control time.

If one fighter lands a single jab, and the other fighter spends the rest of the round controlling the fighter that landed the jab should win.

Why do these wrestlers keep doing the legs takedowns? Whatever happened to upper body wrestling or leg trips? I can’t even remember the last time anyone pull one of those
