My first show I ever saw was quicksand helmet and orange 9mm. 15 years old. It was a great start to 30 years of music

Walter Schreifels is such a cool guy. I also met him when I was a teenager and he was touring with Rival Schools. I really wanted to go to a music festival they were playing, but my mum wasn't sure if she could let me. He actually phoned her on my brick mobile and asked her to let me go haha! It worked! What a gent.

Born out of the straight edge and New York Hardcore movement. They were just kids armed with instruments...they made all of us kids feel like we were all part of it. We sent a few dollars in the mail to their record companies and they mailed us their EP's and LP's. What a time to be alive.

Fuck yes! So many ski and snowboard waxes and tunes done while cranking Quicksand back in the mid 90's. Quicksand, Tool, Helmet, Clutch, and the grunge era bands got us through it all.
