Otter pop - Meme (Remake)

It's been five years since I made the first one wowie!

I've been posting on tiktok these past few years and once people started recognizing who I was they started telling me how nostalgic it was and how Otter Pop was a common favourite! I didn't even realize that Otter Pop is still my most viewed video to date!

I look back at my old videos fondly as it was also my childhood and I could separate it from the funkiness that was irl. However I always get an urge to remake them since technically, they're not great. I know that I was younger and less experienced but I can also recall a bunch of lazy choices on my part aha.

People who watched the original will probably notice that I replaced David with a different character. This is my current sona! Grim the racoon. I've changed David quite a bit since then so he didn't really fit anymore, and I figured that including my old and current sonas would be a nice idea to celebrate 5 years :)

I remember discovering this video back when I was a really young, aspiring artist. If I recall correctly, it's one of THE videos that helped me step into the direction of one day becoming a professional artist - if not animator. I cannot put into words how much your first meme inspired me back in the day, and it's so crazy to know that growing up I now get to see it again but remade, and revised. It's such a nostalgic feeling, and it makes me feel even more inspired currently; in a time where I thought all passion for (my own) art may have died off in a year where things like AI have taken over the artsphere.

Please, if it's your passion, and this goes to ANYONE reading - keep on drawing. Keep on animating, and keep on making art, no matter what form it takes on. As long as it's YOUR creation, people will always be there to support you.
