Very rare tire? New old stock Goodyear Thunderbolt tire. In 1967 Carrol Shelby built the GT500 Super Snake to to test this boring passenger car bias ply narrow tire. He averaged 142 mph over 500 miles and hit 172mph on the straights. This car sold at Mecum Auction for 1.3 million dollars.

Very cool!!, I was fortunate enough to be able to do a video on a few Cobras and GT40s last week at a Superformance/Shelby Legendary Cars dealer it was AWESOME!!

The reason we don't make tires like this is because it has no traction, would fall apart after 3 years of use, it would be completely useless in freezing temperatures.

It was never reproduced because the company would go bankrupt with a tire that never wears out
