He was not running flat out, it was a casual lollop. Lot more speed in him. Lovely dog. My favorite breed.

There’s also the slowing down at the end. I used to do the same with mine. He loved it.

That's about 2/3 of the speed that the dog can run. Only way to make them run flat out is to put game or a lure in front of them.

I used to have a black lab/whippet cross. When asked what our skinny jet black dog was, we called it a labbet. In her prime she was by far, the fastest dog at the local dog park. I miss her.

If you position the person who waits for the dog, say at 110m, the time would decrease maybe to 8 seconds at 100m. It is because, probably the dog slows down the speed when he aproachs the other person. Awesome. I love these dogs. Usain Bolt is a giant. 😊
