Dry chemical extinguishers are filled with Monoammonium Phosphate. Not baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) .

Kitchen extinguishers with baking soda are generally white. They are specific in that the power doesn't fuse to hot surfaces the way potassium bicarbonate, common in ABC dry chem fire extinguishers does.

Fire grenades is a very old technology think 1870's a glass globe filled with salt water. Salt water was chosen because it was harder to freeze. Racked on the wall in 4 or more in vertical stacks

Yes they have used baking soda and compressed air in some extinguishers for many years!

I advised putting some goggles on your eyes anytime you put something in the fire there's no telling what's going to come flying out into your eyes

That can't be "one of those baking white things" from in the fire extinguisher, for sure not baking soda, and not likely FLAMABLE baking powder or flour, which would explode. Baking soda and vinegar put together and the baloon would self inflate with co2.
