Gray whale defecation event

Drone footage of a travelling gray whale off Newport, Oregon that defecates. The research vessel is later seen sampling the fecal matter in the water with a net. This biological material is analyzed for genetic makeup and hormone levels. The drone footage is collected under NOAA/NMFS permit# 16111 issued to John Calambokidis.
