Basic human right is food and shelter. Look under our highway bridges. That’s our standard of human right, loads of homeless.

How many US citizens actually go to voting booth and the question is who votes? Most of them are old people, poor people, housewives, educated people are busy with their career- then you get a pumpkin head in White House and we go on criticizing all these leaders over a beer after work. This is equally true for all the democratic nations. China on the other hand has its own democratic system, not like one citizen one vote western system but of meritocracy. Party members are chosen early on based on their academics, social skills and hard work. After finishing from universities, then in order to work for the government, these brightest and smartest have to take strictest civil exams voluntarily upon passing they are then recruited to work in important posts, again they have to perform year on year in terms of social metrics to further their civil career. This pervades down to everywhere in Chinese system it is not a dictatorship or autocracy, as western media makes us believes. President Xi, who was elected among the politburo members have to prove by being leader of states before he come up the rank in Beijing. Then again it is for 8 years terms only, if he gets re elected for another 8 years that means he did a good job for its citizens. No leader can survive if the citizens are not happy and satisfied, the US Harvard Kennedy survey, which is very credible report found that 95% Chinese citizens are happy with their leaders in 2019 up from 86% a decade a ago, in contrast Biden’s poll rating it is less than 30 % .

Once you set your mind into not purchasing anything from China, two things happen. You get to see products from other countries and those products are a better quality. I keep a record of everything I buy. My major purchases this year we’re an electric Toro lawnmower from Mexico, I only buy clothing now from America, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, or India. The car parts I bought were made in Mexico. The lawn care products I bought we’re from the EU. Any food products I buy, never come from China, under any circumstances. I purchase food products from Korea, Japan, and Thailand. I buy Canadian wines, as well as Australian, African, French, Spanish, and Chilean. I will only buy seafood products that are frozen from Thailand, Chile, Argentina, and Peru. Of course I’m a big fan of grass fed beef from Alberta, wild caught salmon from the Waters of British Columbia as well as crab and clams. Are you getting to see the picture yet? There is nothing in my shopping list that has China written on it. I check every label and every product I buy to ensure that does not happen. The other day I went to buy some instant noodles that had a picture of a Korean flag on the front of it and Korean lettering. Naturally, I made the assumption it was a Korean product. I didn’t pay much attention to the products in my shopping bag until I started thinking about it. Something did not feel right about the instant noodles so I looked very carefully at the packaging. Low and behold The packaging led me to believe it was Korean when it was really Chinese. I instantly took it back and threw it back on the shelf, searched the other noodles and found both Korean and Japanese noodles which I purchased. It’s so easy not to buy products from China. You just have to check everything that you buy because they make every attempt to pass it off as a product produced in another country. And again, the most amazing thing is the fact that within just a few minutes you realize that what you bought that was not made in China is a far better quality. The Nike shoes that I wear lasted forever when they were made in Vietnam. The same shoe, made in China, starts squeaking just days after purchasing them because the glue they used inside was substandard and broke away from the main body of the shoe. I had purchased six pairs because I can’t my size or this quality of shoe in China. The sports shop had to go through their inventory to find me six new pairs of Nike runners that were made in Vietnam.

The US has applied for 18 officials to attend the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, despite announcing a diplomatic boycott earlier in December 2021.

I gather the US admin learned its lesson from 1979 -1980, when the _athletes_ were penalised for the misdeeds of the then-Soviet regime.

(as reported by SCMP 17th Feb 2022 Cyril Ip)
- US viewership hit over 100millions, from a population of 332millions, that's about 1/3rd?
- Australia viewership hit over 11, illions, from a population of 25.7millions, that's about close to half?
- In Europe, only 4days of Beijing 2022 events steamed on Discovery channel, but total viewership surpassed viewership from complete 17days of Pyeongchang 2018.

any diplomats among those viewership?
diplomats participated through tv screens?

(i know i know, viewership is not per capita.)

It's almost sad to see that just because professor Boykoff shows enough decency to retain some form of objectivity, instantly it makes his arguement against China so much weaker.

Thank you athletes for taking a political stand to make global progress for human and civil rights. We need more people and leaders in the fight to help create fundamental social change that helps protect the life and safety of us all.

China don't care, anyway problem with current world it is fail to sustain, and worst thing is we humans are arrogant and proud for nothing, we as a civilization of modern era have just history of not more then 200 years which in comparison is like 2 seconds or may be less, all we learn to fool one and other and make money which now don't even exist anymore, we are moving towards our end as a modern world and if we don't try to understand our mistakes and correct our deeds then it will all end way faster then we expect. ALLAH Rabul Allamin one and only GOD of us all told us in Quran that ALLAH don't send punishment for people in this world they all do it all by them self. And we are proving that true fact.
