Wagner leader Prigozhin ‘agrees to STAND DOWN’ in shock u-turn with forces 120 miles from Moscow

Mutinous Russian mercenary boss Yevgeny Prigozhin said on Saturday (June 24) he had ordered his fighters, who had been advancing on Moscow, to turn around and return to their bases in order to avoid bloodshed.

Prigozhin said his fighters had advanced to within 200 km (124 miles) of Moscow in the last 24 hours.

Smart move. Prigozhin pulls back, no shots fired, on the ''do not want to spill Russian blood'' card. It gives Putin a little bit of wriggle room to back t.f. down from. Still, a huge flex from Prigozhin. But then he's probably the most capable General in the field, so Vlad had better slow his flow, or he risks losing everything. Unless he does a quick reassessment of his armed forces and makes some concessions, he's finished. You can't start a huge territorial conflict with your neighbour, then expect everyone to hang on while you have a civil war.
