It actually is in standard tuning as well as "The Test That Stumped Them All" but the song is in the key of Eb (I think). The main chord he chucks in the beginning, in the main riff, etc. is an eb power chord. Played by the 6th fret on the E string, 6th fret on the A string, and the 8th fret on the D string. That is what makes it sound so low is because he adds that low 5th to that standard Eb power chord.
