On Feb. 25, 2020, Sarah Boone, then 42, was arrested by Orange County deputies after detectives said 42-year-old Jorge Torres Jr. died after being zipped into a suitcase and left inside for hours. The incident reportedly happened at the couple's Winter Park home, near Aloma Avenue and Goldenrod Road. According to investigators, Boone told them that she and Torres had been drinking wine and playing hide-and-seek, when she claimed she went upstairs and passed out in her bed. She said she woke up hours later to her cellphone ringing multiple times. She then reportedly realized her boyfriend was possibly still inside the suitcase, and when she unzipped it, she found Torres unresponsive and not breathing. Boone called 911 and deputies arrived to find Torres dead.

I’m surprised the officer didn’t back away from her in horror. You have a deceased person in your house, who’d been terribly beaten (ME report) and is in a suitcase, and when they ask you what happened, the first thing you tell police is that you and the victim were putting a puzzle together and having a good time. Sarah Boone is the most unsophisticated, unintelligent narcissist I’ve ever heard about.

The videos the prosecution did tonight make you cry. She is a horrible monster.

She's been saying how fearful and so on she was. After watching her interrogation and court hearings, I don't believe for a second that this woman is afraid of anyone or that anyone pushes her around.

You’re right. I would’ve spoke about the act right away, not chronological.

More Sarah Boone coverage please. I'm exhausted re: commentary on legal strategy, but there hasn't been much in the way of body language analysis.

This whole thing has taught me that whenever I tell someone chronologically what’s been happening they don’t believe me. I am really good at remembering sequences of events. I try to fill people in by over explaining and no one ever believes me! I think I may be neurodivergent.

Except for the fact; by this stage; she was so familiar with the police and dealing with them during her call outs that she knew the process

The way she says "so, *he* gets in the suitcase" sounds like she's trying to blame this situation on him.

When I saw this clip the first time, this is what stood out. Nobody would be rambling about unrelated details that occurred earlier in the evening other than someone who had created and rehearsed a cover up story.

I’m sure I’m not alone, but I’m really hoping you guys cover more of this trial. You guys are the only behavioural experts I trust having any merit. Thanks, from Canada 🍁 🇨🇦

I think she gave him some Valium, put him in the suitcase, threw the suitcase down the stairs and then realized it would be too hard to get him out of the house. She passed out from the wine, woke up, realized her kid was gonna be there soon, tried to get the ex-husband to go inside so she could pin it on him, and then decided to make up this story. Maybe she hoped that the fall down the stairs was gonna kill him. That’s unclear. The “I’ll get rid of him” text to his family member makes it premeditated but they are seeking the lesser charge because at a minimum it’s depraved indifference. Her DV defense is offensive because she could have done a dozen things to get away and also release him from the bag.

She was so calm. Didn't give a f about the fact that her partner was dead, because of her.
